Enligt FAQ på Trainz-site står det följande
We are targeting Trainz at a computer system with the minimum (and we stress minimum) specs of a PII 400 with a 32MB 3D card OR a PIII 600 and a 16MB 3D card. Both systems will require at least 64MB RAM. AURAN Jet, the game authoring system that powers Trainz, is scalable - it will take advantage of higher spec PC systems so that Trainz will both run and look better. A higher spec PC will be able to take advantage of higher polygon count models with more textures.
