KMW 2011-08-04 13:17

Very nice looking Dm3, but they look kind of naked without their buffers.
You do know that they have buffers despite the SA3 couplers?

newS 2011-08-04 22:14

The Dm3 is not ready yet. ;)

trnielsen 2011-08-06 12:12

They are look like the norwegian NSB EL12 too!

KMW 2011-08-06 13:00

Now we are talking!
Looks much more finished with the buffers in place.

Yes in deed the Norwegian NSB EL12 is the same type as Swedish Dm but then the mid section has to go,
the lights be back dated and the driver side door moved plus a number of other small differences to post date the engine.
Not impossible to do but some more work than just a repaint.

1 bifogad(e) fil(er)
It´s very fine!
Look at the picture.

ocvn 2011-08-08 13:41

The two sections are not supposed to be that close as in the MSTS picture on El.12. At least not today, just in the very beginning (1950's). Only on the Dm/Dm3 the sections are supposed to be that close to each other.

Look here

Here you can see the "normal" gap between the sections ;)

He has done just right, and it looks very good :tumme_upp:

Basse 2011-08-08 13:49

Great model!

KMW 2011-08-08 15:49

Fantastic model!
NSB added buffers so that they could make two 3-unit locomotives from three 2-unit locomotives.
This was in order to meet increasing train weights.
The same method had been used by both NSB and SJ on older locomotives also.
SJ and NSB choose different paths on EL12/Dm as SJ instead ordered new cabin less units type Dm3 to use with the older Dm units.

Mawkish 2011-08-08 23:35

Gotta give it to the Norwegians(for once) much better pick of color on their part ;) Looks amazing Swen, bloody good work! :ber:

Amazing stuff, simpley stunning!
Looking forward to seeing more of this creation!

KMW 2011-08-09 13:34

It's is hard coming up with new expressions of appreciation! :ber:
With the old Dm you are very close to making the SJ/MTAB litt Da also.
Worktrain locomotive on Malmbanan stationed in Kiruna.
http://www.arctictrains.com/Main/Loc...597073_mLzWJkc

(And as it happens also a common locomotive in the rest of Sweden)

Mawkish 2011-08-09 23:28

Hardly enough time between each new master piece to even be able to sneak in a few words of appreciation ;) Wunderbar! :ber:
