Inlandsbanan - Now at Beta - Svenska 3D-Tåg

It has been a long 4 months but I'm happy to report that my Inlandsbanen route project from Gallivare to Arvidsjaur has now entered the beta testing stage. A few screenshots are shown below:

Activity creation and testing is now under way so I'm hoping at the latest the route will be released by the end of January, maybe a bit sooner.

Distribution will be via download from Trainsim.com, UK Trainsim and this site if Mats can handle the file size. It will also be available on my freeware "at cost" route compilation CD.

If anyone has timetables for the route for both the summer and winter service around 1981 - 82 and could scan or send details that would help get accurate passenger activities.

Y7 cab is excellent, the rear view comes in handy for shunting as I have created one activity where you need to fuel the Railcar then move into the platform at Arvidsjaur. I've added the Passenger Capacity entry to the eng file and increased the coupler strength to 9N so there won't be any breaks on the longer sections of single line when you meet a set of points.

Activity creation is not my strong point so I'll be setting up a few basic activities and hopefully those more skilled at that aspect can produce some more interesting scenarios. At Gallivare I have included the triangle layout so it would be possible to run from Arvidsjaur, back the train round the triangle (wye) and run back to Arvidsjaur again. A 10 hour activity!!

For my own personal use, I've aliased the sounds to the latest Class 158 sounds available from UK Trainsim. Not exact, but much better than listening to the Kiha and the 158 has a quite high pitch two tone horn which sounds quite Scandinavian too.

Wow, Vern! Think i have to reinstall Mts just so i can enjoy your route.
Fantastic work. I certainly reqonise the terrain, although its been many years since i travelled there last time.

I´ll be sure to follow the progress!

The route has now been released.

The files are currently awaiting approval at Train-sim.com and UK Trainsim I have also asked Mat if he can accept it to the file library on this site.

I have also added the route to my CD compilation which can be obtained via my web site. www.trainsim.org.uk/mtsroutes.html

It will be interesting to see what a "Hawked" version could look like. A similar exercise took place with my Blackpool tramway route which was lovingly enhanced and improved beyond all recognition by a couple of the people at UKTS.

Now having a short rest then tackling something closer to home - Cardiff to Rhymney to give the Class 37 diesels a blast!

Ja tycker Big Verns bilder ser jättefina ut, där behövs nog ingen ändring i rutten, jag har inte planerat att göra nått iaf.

I think Big Verns images is terrific(nice), there is probably not needed any change.

The main archive is now available on Trainsim.com however I have had to upload a small patch as Route Riter appears to have deleted a couple of shape and texture files it shouldn't have. A patch has been uploaded to fix that but it may be a day or two before that is approved.

Forgot to add, if anyone has downloaded the route the patch is only about 600kb so I can email it if required pending upload approval. Just drop me a note at vern@nospamtrainsim.org.uk (remove nospam from the address) if you want it.
